Long ago, fears manifested as monsters. Most could not be slain but some could be subdued. Grimme was one of them, albeit by a different name. Autosomaphobia is the fear of one’s own body.
One day a witch came along. It was standard. Witch comes, does magic, fails, and is no longer with us. This one was different. She talked to Grimme. Over time, the two became friends and eventually, an agreement was made. Grimme was subdued into a familiar. A binding contract so long as both parties lived. Unfortunately, the witch trials were held.
Death was standard but as a being with no set form, Grimme had to find a way to honor her master. Another agreement. Grimme found herself bound to the witch. Through patchwork hexes and hope, she spreads life, joy and laughter in the name of witch kind with a face that is not hers
